The Canadian Rose Annual (1992) states: "SUNSATTON (VELDFTRE), HT (Kordes '87) [(Bengali x Uwe Seeler) x
Cocktail '80]. OB (ob), glowing apricot to orange, 45 petals, Sheridan's 75th
Anniversary Rose."

So its the old Bengali where it gets its horrid case of BS. I always wondered.

I remember this rose. Quite a long time ago.

Thin, tall. Perpetually defoliated from blackspot. Pretty blooms. If you live anywhere with BS issues, I would take a hard pass on this rose.

Edit: I now recall where I saw this. It was at Rich and Dr. Charold Baer's garden when I graduated high school. They gave me a nice pair of Felcos as a graduation present.

I remember seeing 'Champagner' there, too. It was really cool, but these are more collector roses. They're very unique for their time, but have health problems.

ok, Schmoopy's pics have convinced me that I really do have to get this one from Ludwig's Roses next time I'm there!
