Breeder's notes:
“Heather” is a true Rosa rugosa and a seedling of R. rugosa Frau Dagmar. It first flowered on 17th May - my sister-in-law, Heather’s birthday. The buds have deep pink tips filtering to white or blush-pink under the sepals. The flowers have eighteen petals and are semi-double and fragrant, and have an unusual colour for a rugosa. They open to a rich pale pink becoming blush-pink towards the centre with an inch of yellow stamens. There are 15 to eighteen petals.“Heather” is a repeat bloomer throughout the flowering season. The growth habit is upright and bushy with many typical rugosa thorns and the rugose foliage is a medium green. Good yellow Fall colour. Height approximately 1.25m and the spread 1m. Hardiness zone 3.
