Class:
Shrub.  
Bloom:
Dark velvety red.  Mild fragrance.  15 to 20 petals.  Average diameter 2.5".  Medium, semi-double to double, high-centered to cupped, semi-globular bloom form.  Spring or summer flush with scattered later bloom.  Medium, ovoid buds.  
Habit:
Tall, bushy, upright, well-branched.  Large, matte, dark green, maroon highlights foliage.  3 to 5 leaflets.  

Height: 3' to 5' (90 to 150cm).  Width: 2' to 4' (60 to 120cm).
Growing:
Can be used for beds and borders, garden, landscape or shrub.  Very vigorous.  can be grown as a shrub.  drought resistant.  flowers drop off cleanly.  heat tolerant.  produces decorative hips.  suitable for a pillar.  Disease susceptibility: disease resistant.  Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood..  Can be pruned to maintain a shorter habit.  Remove unproductive wood every third year or so.  
Breeder's notes:
This is an extremely vigorous plant. So far it seems to be very healthy. It has an above average number of thorns to it. Seems to be heat and drought tolerant as well.

Pollen provided by a plant bred by Larry Davis known as Carefree Copper

First planted in the ground: July 2016

Variety sets many hips both open pollinated and with controlled crosses.
