Bloom:
Dark red, almost black on edges, white center, yellow stamens. Moderate fragrance. 17 to 25 petals. Average diameter 3". Medium, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, ruffled bloom form. Prolific, blooms in flushes throughout the season.
Habit:
Medium, bushy, upright. Medium, glossy, medium green foliage.
Height: 2' to 3' (60 to 90cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 9a and warmer. Can be used for beds and borders, container rose, cut flower, exhibition, garden, landscape or shrub. Hardy. vigorous. Disease susceptibility: disease resistant, susceptible to blackspot , very mildew resistant, very rust resistant. Remove spent blooms to encourage re-bloom. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that. Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood.. Can be grown in the ground or in a container (container requires winter protection). Prune lightly until this rose gets established (about two years), then prune it back by about a third..
Breeder's notes:
This rose is great in the garden here in Oregon-zone 8, very little black spot and no fungus. nice small rose for borders or mass planting with striking, dark red, almost black color and fragrance.
