Class:
Unknown, Found Rose.  
Bloom:
Pink.  Double (17-25 petals) bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  Rounded buds.  
Habit:
Tall, arching.  

Height: 4'11" (150cm).  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
This large fountaining shrub was collected in the Adelaide hills, South Australia.
Season: Early. In South Australia, starts well before the gallicas, alba’s and mosses.
Sets no hips.
Prickles on basal canes.


Possible Identifications
Athalin (bourbon, Jacques, pre 1829) - eliminated because it was a good seed bearer
Belle sans Flatterie - the 1936 reference says this repeats.
Blairii No. 2. - eliminated because it seems to have fewer petals, grows taller, and sets the odd hip.
Brennus - an 1875 reference said it was a good seed bearer (there are no descendants listed for Brennus). Colour may not be compatible.
Chenedole - eliminated. Too red (crimson) and sets hips.
Cheshunt Hybrid - eliminated as colour seems too dark.
Coup d’Hebe, eliminated, bloom is cupped.
Desiree Parmentier - the rose-in-commerce flowers late and has many prickles.
Duchesse de Buccleugh - but said to flower later in the season.
Majestueuse (hybrid china) - eliminated as one reference said it wad a good seed bearer.
Ipsilante - eliminated because of its lilac pink colour.
Ispahan has been eliminated as a possible identification. - why?
Nestor - conflicting references on prickles.
President de Seze - eliminated because of its lilac pink colour.

Other roses yet to be considered are,, Leopold de Bauffremont, Magna Rosea.
