Descriptions and Account of the Varieties of Double Scotch Roses, cultivated in the Gardens of England. By Joseph Sabine, Esq. F. R. S. &c. Secretary. Read November 7th, 1820.
Approaching to this [Large Double Yellow] is another variety, of a plant which I found in the Hammersmith nursery, where it was called the Globe Double Yellow; but as it rarely opens its flowers well, it does not deserve cultivation.  It is distinguished from the preceding kind by its peduncles being quite smooth.
