Candeur Lyonnaise.   Old   Hybrid Perpetual,  light yellow.   Repeat-flowering.      This rare rose was created at the start of World War 1 when many French hybridizers were breeding their last roses – a great number of these men died in the conflict.    The white blossoms with yellow overtones have long, pointed buds.    The flowers are double, large and, some say, more attractive than the parent.    It blooms in mid-summer with some repeat.    There are prickles, and the foliage is large and mid-green.    A hardy, vigorous shrub that makes an excellent hedge, its upright canes reach 5 ft (1.2m).  Zones 5-9.  Croibier, France 1914.    Seedling of ‘Frau Karl Druschki’.
