Photographed in June 2009. This plant is growing on its own roots in HEAVY clay soil and is now about 5 years old. It receives only some supplemental watering and rarely some fertilizer. It stands about 6 feet tall at the very highest point. For me, this is one of the very few truly outstanding modern HT type roses. TO itys right is the Carruth shrub 'Hot Cocoa'.
