I grew up with guinea fowl running all over the place. Not the sharpest tool in the box! What is the enormous rose in the corral?

Australian (ha!) guinea fowl might be brainier. They tell me when there is a snake, and you should see the tenderness when a fella feeds his lady a piece of found crushed walnut. They do get a bit scared and noisy when there is a hawk or eagle around and one has to go out and say "wassamatta? wassamatta?". The predator is scared away and peace reigns once more.

'Devoniensis Cl.' a 2000 foundling on its own roots. Just past its prime.
