April 20, 2011. Planted approximately early 1990s. York and Lancaster is now a very large specimen (on the roof!). Very fragrant, a wafter. Tolerates shade very well. Will sucker but not excessively. Quite thorny! The bloom is above roof level. Photo shot from the ground.
