This is everybody's Rose and a variety that is equally good for exhibition, garden and bedding purposes. The habit of growth is very vigorous and branching. For exhibition purposes it requires hard pruning and severe disbudding, only allowing the tree to carry five blooms; but for garden and bedding purposes, it only requires moderate pruning the third week in March, when it will make a fair-sized bush. The blooms are fragrant and last a very long time when cut. The dark green foliage is, however, liable to mildew, which may be kept in check by spraying. Awarded a Gold Medal of the National Rose Society.
