R. Setigera serena old canes with new growth from the roots. Earlier this winter the new shoot was a celery green with orange-red edging, paler than the light green you see here. The leaves are a medium blue-green; there is no scent to them, other than a 'hay' or 'fresh grass' scent. The plant was too new to have any buds.
