My first blooms and best blooms! This was when I was growing in a pot on a 2nd floor apartment balcony and pests were not a problem! Unfortunately I later moved to property that just seemed to have every garden pest imaginable! I had plague proportions of leaf hopper, thrips & spider mite attack the poor thing and in a I'll fated attempt to save my rose bush I sprayed with pesticide in the heat of summer and ended up not only killing the bugs but the rose bush as well in the process :(. I have since learnt a bit more about growing roses (endless online reading) and bought myself another one because I loved it so much! So far "Spinosad" seems to be working for the thrips which are highly attracted to the fragrant white blooms and Seasol (seaweed) and Eco-Oil take care of the rest of the pests!
