'Duchess of Wellington', Ophelia, Red Radiance and Radiance from Conard & Jones Co. Roses Catalogue, 1923:
"DUCHESS OF WELLINGTON. Intense saffron- yellow, stained with rich crimson, which, as the flower develops, becomes deep, coppery saffron-yellow. The blooms are fairly full; petals large and of great substance. Free-flowering and delightfully fragrant. We consider this about the best yellow Hybrid Tea."
