Jay jay: That's the best picture ever of Francis Meilland. I love it. You fed that rose well !! How did you fertilize that rose, and what type of soil was used? Thank you. I always want my roses to have deeper & darker color, and I am shopping for a fertilizer that would achieve such result.

Didn't You read the accompanying text?
There is explained why the color is that dark.
Nothing to do with soil or fertilizer.
You're back on HMF after a while of absence?

Yes, I read the text. I was hoping for an easier fertilizer than horse manure, since horse manure deepens the colors of my roses .. but a pain to get. I'm back on HMF gathering info., since it's spring in my zone 5a, and I'm receiving 7 own-root roses from Roses Unlimited, plus buying more grafted-on-Dr.Huey from local store.
