Lagerfeld x (probably) Sugar Moon..........huge HUGE blooms.....this is a year ago, April or May 2012.....he contiunues to grow LOW and bloom HUGE.....looks very much like a ruffled WW2 Memorial Rose with that weird silver-white color overlaid grey or lilac............also inherited Mom Lagerfeld's weird narrow folliage and tendency to mildew..........nevertheless will get him budded and sent out...........

The SIDE of the house..........the BIG bed............this is late May, 2012.......these are all own root, all arranged in chronoloigical order so at the far end are the pernetianas and Mrs. Herbert Stevens, closer in it is maybe 1970-ish with Alabama, Smoky........we have a HUGE deer problem here, they will eat them to nothing..........leaving the HOSE out seems to deflect deer..........as I post this the bed is fuller packed and late in season it is a CANOPY of foliage, cannot even see the pots....this is late May over a year ago

January 2013, this is a seedling from a self-set hip from some random tea rose that grows in front of Mission Santa Barbara. In my greenhouse room. Does MUCH better under glass, outside it is creamy white with some yellow in the center. No idea what the parent is, Souvenir d'Elise de Vardon is a candidate and seems the best match. This one also does NOT do well budded, refuses to throw basals. Own root and/or budded it is gangly and has almost no foliage. A budded survived outside here in 6a so it is NOT pure tea. I call her "Hope" because I actually tried to kill the seedling----it appeared 9 months after sowing in a house plant pot and I ignored it......at one point I potted it up....glad I did........thorny and disease resistant, wish I knew the Mom and a bee can only tell me the Dad..............
