The photo below from the 2002 Historic Rose Journal, No. 24 front cover, carried the caption on p1.
"One of three very 0ld China roses growing in the garden at Hex, this is thought to be R. indica rubra. Photo Milton Nurse."
Does anybody know what the rose turned out to be?

To whoever who made this website.
Hex is not a PUBLIC rose garden but a privately inhabited estate, always inherited within the family. Two big plant festivals are being organised on the 2nd WE of June (Fr Sa Su) and the 2nd of Sept (Sa Su), when visitors have access to all the gardens and the show.
Guided visits for groups (min 20p) upon written request are possible in all year except July (partly) and August.
We will be glad to write more on Hex, once we know how this website is structured.
