100 Hill Road
The Auckland Regional Botanic Gardens covers an area of 64 hectares (or, roughly, 150 acres). They are located adjacent to the southern motorway, access is via the Manurewa off-ramp and eastward along Hill Road. The Auckland Regional Botanic Gardens are open year round, 9 am to dusk. Admission is free. They feature an extensive New Zealand native plant collection; Rose Introducers of New Zealand Trial Ground; and a Southern African collection. There are monthly Guided Rambles (held on the first Sunday of every month) and Hands on Workshops. In mid-November, the ARBG hosts the Auckland Rose of the Year Judging.
You can find out more about the ARBG at the site of the Auckland Regional Council: http://arc.govt.nz/parks/24-2.htm. They provide a map which shows the gardens' location: http://arc.govt.nz/parks/24.htm.
