Hello:
I hope your open garden is going well today. We had ours yesterday and the day before and were prett close to peak bloom (actually even a little past) here south of Eureka.
One of our visitors brought a cutting from a rambler in Fernbridge and she thought it might be Goldfinch. We have a 6' "start" of something quite similar from the greenbelt in Eureka. You are the only listing of Goldfinch and I'm confused from all book references as to whether it reblooms or not. The Eureka plant is almost always in bloom. Where did you get your plant? It's no longer listed in the CRL. We'd like to identify it so that we can offer it for sale.
Thank you very much. Hope we can visit each other some time.

Hello:
Does your Goldfinch rebloom? We're trying to ID an everblooming rambler in the greenbelt in Eureka, CA, and also something quite similar/same in Fernbridge. I've tried to attach a photo 3 times and it makes the system crash, so if you write me back I'd be glad to send a photo of each to look at.
Thank you. Hope your Open Garden went well. We did ours the past 2 days.

Hello, I can't comment on hardiness because I live in zone 8. My Orange Velvet is around 8x6 on a fence.

Have just received a Thusnelda rose as a gift. Can you provide any general information about this rose, namely selecting a location.
Thanks
Sandi Douglas
ps--our family owns property outside of Laytonville, part of the old Hargus ranch.

Hi Sandi, First of all you are very welcome to stop by here sometime if you would like to see my Thusnelda. I am very fond of this rose. In the strange weather this year it bloomed very early for a few weeks. I was thinking that it didn't have a rebloom but I see some buds now. You probably know that it is a Rugosa hybrid. Mine is rather wide and spreading (though not suckering, thankgooness) It is probably 5 feet tall. I bet it could get taller. Disease resistance is not great but not bad either. The flowers are so pretty, very doubled, pink. It was a nice gift. I hope you enjoy it. Pam Temple
