Hi everyone:

Our rose society is running its seventeenth annual rare and unusual rose auction now. Email bidding is open, and closes precisely at noon on Oct. 20th. Information is on our website at www.ccrsauction.com, and there are lists of the roses available (linked to this site for pictures) as well as a form for submitting email bids on the site. Please have a look.

We do ship roses, and this year we are making a concerted effort to keep the roses to one gallon containers for easier and cheaper shipping. If you have any special instructions, like that you would like to place a bid, "provided it is in a one gallon container" or something like that, just let us know. We assign real live society members-- those that are not placing bids themselves -- to actually place the email bids, and they will do their best to accommodate whatever you ask for by way of special instructions. And they will not overbid. If you give them a "no higher than x" price, the price you will actually pay will be one dollar over the next highest bid (plus our shipping costs for getting it to you, which are separate).

Simsalabim is usually the highest price rose in the bunch, but there are also usually quite a few that go for 20 to 30 dollars. For shipping, we only charge whatever the USPS actually charges us, and we ship whenever you tell us to to do so, although we get bulk rates (much better for you) if we do it the week after the auction. If you want plants next spring however, due to cold weather or something like that, we can overwinter them in California as need be, and ship later at regular USPS rates.

Again, please have a look: http://www.ccrsauction.com
Thank you, Kathy Strong

ps below is a photo I took yesterday from the actual plant of Simsalabim that will be auctioned off at our auction this year.

Done! Good idea. Hope someone looks at it. I put the whole schedule of festivities over there.
