Rosa Thea alba The white Tea rose. Bloomed in a magnificent example in the rich plant collection of the town concillor Herr Stöttner in Nürnberg in the glasshouse in May.
The foliage is very vivid green, the center one of the 5 leaflets the longest, the two lowest the smallest, the leaf stalk somewhat reddish. The rose is 4 inches in diameter, and is 1 1/2 inch high, very double, the narrow petals inside stand upright and close to eachother, the outer [petals] domed, 1 1/2 inch high, 1 3/4 inch broad, white, with less reddish reflexes than the inner ones. When the bloom is fully expanded, all petals become white. She has, like the previous [Thea lutea] the lovely Tea fragrance.
