Deane Ross. Anais Segalas. This rose is one of the varieties that are to be found surviving along the waysides in the Adelaide Hills. With low spreading and thicketing habit, it has flat double blooms of cerise-crimson paling to the edges and ageing towards lilac. 1837. Low. Spreading, double. Very fragrant. Spring.

‘Gloire des Rosomanes’ (Ragged Robin, Red Robin) . This variety was once used as an understock for it is one of the more vigorous Chinas. The large loose blooms are borne in loose clusters, being light crimson shading paler upon ageing. Large light green foliage and smooth wood. 1825. A rose that does not have instant appeal, with its loose blooms of light carmine red toning lighter to the centre, but you will find it flowering at almost any time of the year when nothing else is in bloom.
