Somewhat different are the Multiflora varieties of the Tausendschön-race, such as e.g. 'Fragezeichen', 'Tausendschön'. These often develop after the bloom, new young climbing canes out of the long canes, and only fewer strong canes from the graft. Especially if the Tausendschön varieties are set along espaliers or on walls, this rejuvenation of the plant from old wood becomes conspicious, whereas on solitary plants bound on rods only, the rejuvenation from below outweighs. It is also recommendable in these sorts to remove the wood weakened through blooming in autumn. The covering of the remaining canes is then substantially easier.
