Eugene H. Lins:] "Gene Lins...a leading hybbridizer of both gladiolus and peonies for over forty years...Born in Shakopee, Minnesota on May 13, 1894...[in 1920] he began growing glads and peonies as a Hobby. In later years, this grew into Lins Glad and peony Farm, which issued a well-respected catalogue until 1967. He hybridized and introduced over forty peony cultivars..."
