Thanks Robert... The photo does not completely capture the glow that seems to radiate from it. I'm hoping to use this in breeding this year. There is a Morden Sunrise x William Baffin seedling that is a good seed parent that I'm planning on using it with. Liz

I love line breeding. I don't think most hybridizers use it enough. We do think alike.

Svejda used line breeding quite extensively in arriving at L83. And I would say that it is a fairly common practice when dealing with quantitatively inherited characters. Seems like we are like minded... Hope my crosses work out as well as yours and Svejda's...

How good is the rebloom on this rose? I need a tall, pink, climbing rose that reblooms all summer. Any ideas?

not very good, it is rather sporadic after the first amazing flush.

it is very happy to do lots of blooming after it settles in. my first year it was once, last year, remontant! the foliage is as good as a holly when it is not in bloom. nice all around, no die back in my 5b shady growing in sand driveway. close to perfect. flower very neat and cheerful.

HI Robert, I like the looks of this one. Is it leggy like Loving Touch? I finally bit the bullet and tossed my LT out last fall, but I do have a few seedlings from it.

Hi Liz, no this one is quite short so far. It's pollen fertile. I have hopes of carrying it forward. I'm glad it's not a mini.

I tossed Loving Touch two season ago. It's an easy seed parent but I've kept relatively few of the seedlings I made with it.

Hi Robert, I really like this rose. It reminds me of Everest Double Fragrance in its appearance. Liz

Thanks Liz, it's the result of some experimentation I was doing. I like it too and the scent is really over the top wonderful.

I'm hoping it will be disease resistant considering it purportedly comes out of canina and spinossisima.

Roses Unlimited has 'Peachy Apricot' for testing but I haven't heard anything yet. As you know own-root roses take some time to show themselves.

Unfortunately this rose has shown a tendency to give singles when used in hybridizing but I'm not throwing in the towel yet. I love those contrasting stamens.
