Babs is not as disease prone as I had initially read about. I sprayed her earlier than the others last year as a preventative measure and she never had black spot or mildew. Just don't let the fungus establish in the first place.

I wish I had seen HMF's comment earlier !! Put Barbra in a pot in full-sun at 90+ hot temp, and leaves got scorched in just a few days .. so I moved the pot to a few hours of morning sun, and it pumped out leaves & buds. It refused to bloom until I gave it lots of SOLUBLE fertilizer, and leaves got glossier with alkaline pea- gravel. Glossy foliage needs alkaline minerals & constant moisture & partial shade.

I have Pascali and she is a pretty rose not inclined to blackspot. They are small blooms and pointed petals. Very pretty.

What zone are you in? I am considering Pascali, but I was worried about blackspot. I live in zone 7, and the summers here are very hot and humid.

I am in zone 7.Yes humidity and BS are a problem. I have had a Crystalline with mediocre results. I am interested in Pascali because it is in the Rose Hall of Fame. If I could determine that Pascali is likely to do well here I will give it a try. Would have to order from an out of the area location because, to my knowledge, this rose is typically not carried by local nurseries and I am reluctant to by friom Lowes/HomeDepot

I absolutely adore this rose! It's my favorite white tea. I buy only from growers who offer plants grown on their own root stock. It does well here in Bisbee, Arizona. I have also grown it in two gardens in California.

This rose is a black spot magnet. I dont even know what it looks like with leaves as they fall off the minute you look at it. Ive sprayed and its sneered at me. I am giving it this year to clean up its act or its getting SP'd. It infects every other rose in the bed as well. Im not happy with this rose!!! :?(

It is a shame KP is like that for you. It points out the importance of people from different regions commenting on roses. Someone from your area would shoot me if they got KP based on my comments.

You right on the money Dave. HMF needs people from different regions and climates to share their experience.

I have this rose and it has a strong scent. It puts out bud after bud. Its a bloom machine in my garden.

The color changes with the temp, when its cool its a darker purple and when its hot its lighter. The fragrance stays that same stong sweet smell.
