I am unable to renew my membership. When I click the paypal button it just hangs. I also tried the donate button and the same thing.

I would guess PayPay might have been very busy at the time. It seems okay now. Please let us know how you make.

Out of 120 roses ordered spring 2008, this one is one of my favourites. The leaves are fantastic, very dark and glossy. It has not had any issues with disease, not even a spot. The flowers are lovely, the buds are touched with pink, and when open the center has a hint of yellow. This is all around a great rose, and it smells good too.

I have read many things about Hortico, good and bad. For two years I didn't order from them because of things I had read. However, they have a fantastic selection of roses, that are hard to find anywhere else. So this fall I ordered some roses for pick up, and paid by cheque. My order was delayed, and some roses listed as available, were not. However, my Customer Service rep was great, and I always knew the status of my order. I also knew that some of the roses are sourced, and even though they expect them by a certain date they may not receive them. The end result: I received 19 great roses, they were healthy and in good condition. I was also pleased with the service I received. I think Hortico is a good supplier, they just need to improve their inventory control system.

I can second that. After reading many mixed reviews all over the web, I decided to roll the dice, mostly because of their astonishing selection. Of four plants ordered, two arrived in excellent shape and are leafing out well. The other two turned out not to be in stock after all, and will be shipped in the fall. I'm perfectly fine with this. Sure - inventory control could be improved, but in many cases, where else are you going to find some of these things?

Now if only they stocked Prairie Peace...

Good luck with "they'll be sent in the Fall". The second time my "back orders" weren't shipped in the Fall and I failed to receive any refund nor replacement plants, I wrote them off. Yes, they LIST an amazing collection. It should be interesting to see how many are properly named and how many actually live.

Well, as I said, It's a roll of the dice. They get one chance. If they screw it up, they'll lose me, and my voice will be added to their chorus of detractors. But I still intend to give them the chance. The people who've had positive experiences can't all be astroturf.

The two plants that arrived so far appear to be correct as far as I can tell with no blooms. They're at least the right type. And one's Carmenetta, which should be pretty hard to misidentify even as a bare-root. They both seem very healthy so far.

Ordered from Palatine Fall 2007, Spring 2008 and Spring 2009. The customer service is fantastic, and the roses are huge and healthy with great roots and strong canes.
