This wild rose grows in very large number on hills over Genova, Italy, from 300 m above. It is quite low and grows in large beds. It should be a form of the true Rosa gallica. Flowers have a nice scent.

Vigorous new growth loaded with flowers on a new plant. This rose has got outstanding qualities: great vigor, spectacular fragrance, unusual colour, and appears to be not as prone to mildew as I expected. (Genova, Italy, June 2009)
