While I have been a gardener most of my life, I've been growing roses (mostly Old Garden Roses) for nine years. As a rose historian, I have written and published several dozen articles, mostly on the backgrounds or history of particular roses and occasionally of breeders (see Rosa Mundi, Heritage Roses New Zealand, ROSE LETTER of the Heritage Rose Group, The Marin Rose, etc). I am a board member of Heritage Roses Group, editor of its quarterly, and also president of the North Bay Rose Society, a Consulting Rosarian, a certified master gardener and a recently retired professor.
