Does anyone think that this rose is my unidentified rose in the Ringling Rose Garden? I posted a picture of it below.

I doubt it would be California Dreaming, which was only released for the first time this year, and only through one California nursery (Regan's). If you have had this rose longer than that, and you got it from somewhere else, then it's probably some other rose. Your rose bears a striking resemblance, however, to Lynn Anderson. Take a look at that rose, perhaps. Ms. Anderson is usually a pretty easy rose to recognize, as the plant grows like a rocket and straight up. The study name for the plant when it was still a seedling was "Oh my god!". Is this one a vigorous grower?

Would it be possible to exchange more photos of this rose? Since I noticed it was from Conard-pyle, I thought it may have come in as an extra from Conard pyle as a test rose before it was developed and got overlooked in our plant nursery. It seldom happens that when we receive a years test rose we accidently receive five instead of four and the extra gets potted up and put in the nursery as an extra. It is not out of the question that an untagged rose got planted. I have been working on my unidentified list for two years and have it down from appr 150 to 10. I believed this rose to be Lynn Anderson also but after seeing this one in the mag I am not so sure. I do know it has really taken off since I planted it last year. The curator believed it to be Dream Come True so told me to plant it. After it bloomed I realized it was not what we thought. I have another post on "What is this" on HMF. I hope to put two pics of this unidentified rose from Ringling Rose Garden. Does anyone know what it is? It has 50 -/+ petals. It is very dark burgundy when it is fresh. Seems to bloom in flushes. It is a new rose so I don't have a lot of info about it yet. It is moderately fragrant.

I don't know if that was meant for me, but I'm no expert! Just someone who wanders with a camera. The people I send photos to, for help with IDs, all keep an eye on HMF. Alas I'm no computer expert either, and can't work out how to get to the photos you quote, from their numbers. Would HMF admin please help me with that?
The opinions you need are from someone who knows what is likely to have been planted, and to have survived, in your area.

Thanks for that. Can't help; I've given up trying to keep track of modern roses, and I find the old reds and purples very difficult on digital images.

Thanks Margaret. I am quite the novice so I was looking through other comments and tried to pick some persons who really know all about this. If you are familar with OGR'S I have a couple of those unidentified also. LOL

LOL indeed! OGRs in Florida? This is where you don't need assistance from someone on the steep part of the learning curve, gardening in zone 9b in another continent!

This rose is an unidentified rose in the Ringling Rose Garden in Sarasota, Florida. I wondered if it is Lynn Anderson. It is very pale pink/white with dark rasberry tone edges, a hybrid tea. It has appr 40+ petals, and a moderate fragrance. The photo does not do it justice with the dark edges. It is more noticeable on the live rose. I will try to download the picture. I know it is not secret, paradise, Ken Davis, Princesse de Monaco, the petal count is wrong on those. I think it is not Sheila's perfume either, not enough yellow tones in the center.

Loretta, your unidentified rose is showing very dark green foliage, as do many of the shots of Lynn Anderson. But some users have commented on how large the foliage is...I'm not seeing that in your shots. I suggest you try to take a bit of a closeup of the leaves and of the canes.

Thanks for the input. I read the description of Lynn Anderson in th e Weeks catalog and it stated that it has unbelievably long stems and large resistant leaves that fill out to the bottom. As this rose is still such a baby it is hard to tell for a novice like me. But I will keep on trying.
