Curious about this rose. Anyone knows about disease resistance, cold hardiness, scent and repeat?

Hi
hansestadt Roostock probably is the best "yellow" cluster flower rose of the moment!
Super compact growth, healthy, (none scent) and good for rose beds.
I saw this rose when its won the first prize in Baden Baden last year.

(I think is a Bernstein rose son ;-) )
greetings

Thanks for the reply! It looks as if it blooms with a tight bundle of three blooms in each big bouquet. Interesting. When you say it was very compact, do you mean it was also rather small or just very leafy? If it is Bernstein Rose that is behind it, that should be a good sales argument for marketing...still it is not made public apparently.

Thanks again!

Fredrik

Sorry, probably I'm wrong about Bernstein rose, (It's only my impression) but when I saw these rose, I thought was very similar.
Its height was quite reduced, max.40-60 cm. If you want we can speak about roses by e-mail. davidedallalibera@virgilio.it

thanks

It's quite possible. The odd petal shape precedes and proceeds it in generations. Seems to stick around, genetically. A few Flower Carpet, as well as Aprikola, also seem to have this odd petal architecture.

Is this rose related to the rose Annie Laurie McDowell of Kim Rupert?

Probably only through their shared multiflora ancestry. There are similarities, but also pretty strong differences.

Goodmorning, Anna Coi is very different from Rupert's roses Annie Laurie McDowell ! At first my roses come from two not recurrent parent, including Rambling Rector, Veilchenblau and a noisette seedling, but his roses it's nearest at moscata-noisette than mine.
Questions: I'd love to have some of varieties from Mr Rupert, for my research and if he want selling, how can I do? It's possible write by our e-mail? thanks

Very nice rose You bred Davidedallalibera! A lot of old roses in it?

Good evening, yes, I use strange and different type of old roses in my crosses. In this one there are my seedlings and Duchesse de Berry. This part of my breeding program is for researching strongness character and healthy . I use hybrid of gallica, moscata, setigera, wichurana, but the biggest problem is the recurrence! So I started with a other research program, including floribunda and hybrid teas with results more immediate even if isn't what I'd like. Greetings Davide

A good evening to you too,
I understand Your difficulties to get a rose like this, but then repeat flowering.
I like it, that You use the hybrids of Gallica's, Moschata, Setigera and Wichurana.
As for instance, I like the Setigera Hybrids of Geschwind too.
But despite the fact that this rose just flowers once, I still think it is very nice, just like the other ones of this program!
