Thanks! I love how you can put the canes pretty much anywhere you want in the early spring.

I'm not a Veilchenblau fan, but how You used it to grow into the tree and covering the fence... quite a display; awesome.
I like its parent very much: Erinnerung an Brod.

According to MRXI, date is 1991.
Perhaps the spelling "tequila sunset" should be entered so people can find the rose...
Saw this breathtaking rose at a local nursery in 2005.

On page 628 of Modern Roses XI, the official registration material shows that the roses was registered in 1991, bred in 1976 and introduced in 1992. Don't you just love it? I will have to confirm the date of breeding and introduction with another source as MR 11 has been reported to have some errors before I change the rose page. If you have another resource I can use for documentation, please let me know.
As for spelling, our spelling for this rose matches the spelling in MR 11.

I know your spelling matches... but if you didn't know it was spelled different you would think that HMF didn't have info on the rose.

I understand exactly what you are saying. This is why we have put in the "Sounds Like" search as a part of the rose search. There are so many different ways to spell some names of the roses, this seemed like the best solution.

First, thanks for getting the system to find this rose when one searches for "Tequila Sunset"! Who would think to look for a rose by intentionally misspelling one of the two words in its name? And of the people who have it, who would wade through Modern Roses XI to figure out how to spell the name of a rose in order to look it up here?
Idea for improvement when the 'to do list' gets perilously short: match also "Tequila." This puts it in the company of like-colored roses when searching on that string.
BTW: I'm sure the "sounds like" solution sounded good at the time: it's a neat feature. I find, though, that when I'm looking up a lot of roses and I am successful most of the time with whatever the default control setting is, I rarely remember to use another. I hope you don't mind if some of us keep suggesting alternatives that would make the site seem easier for us to use even when there exists a solution we have not yet learned to use. ... I wonder whether it would be a great burden on computation time to have the algorithm progress from "matches" through "contains" to "sounds like" automatically? Thanks.
