I received this rose from Vintage Gardens 4-30-2014. This lovely rose turns off-white with a bit of age, and has a wonderful rose scent, the color and size of bloom reminds me of Hybrid Musk Penelope. The dark shiny green leaves are small, there are tiny prickles under a few of the leaf joints. The plant canes are flexible and well branched, and there are numerous buds waiting to open.

Vintage Gardens sent this one 4-30-2014, it was nice to see a healthy green plant with a fully opened lilac pink, cup-shaped bloom . It was very old-fashioned looking with lots of petals, about 3 in across. There were two buds as well, I snipped off one the buds, but didn't find any scent from the bloom, or the buds, but much later the one bud I cut off had a bit of Damask scent. The moss is a bit prickly, and has a soft pine scent.

My plant came from Vintage 4-30-2014, about 20 in tall, with a full bloom of yellow. Very healthy looking. I can't detect any scent, but the bloom is lovely.

Named for Napoleon's oldest sister, this spelling would be the correct married name for her.
Monique, thanks for your information, I wrote what I found from reading an old garden book on Google books. I didn't research the family history.

I think this should be Napoleon's younger sister. Elisa was born in 1777. Napoleon Bonaparte was born in 1769.
