Try staking canes laterally, more blooms and easier to reach.

I just got mine and am thinking of planting it in a large pot with lav./red purple striped Clematis 'Paulie', white Gladiolus 'Alaska' and a deep electric blue anemone. The colors seem to work surprisingly. Any thoughts? Yours is just delicious looking!

Sounds very good, but may I ask you. How big is your planter?

Container interior is 15" across & 25" deep. After measuring, I think the Anemone is too much. The depth gives the rose roots plenty of room, I would only use 3 bulbs and the clematis should have sufficient room since it is not twining and only gets to be 4-6' itself.

I am afraid 15" is barely enough just for a rose. Clematis with time will have huge root system. Can your planned 'arrangement' be planted in the ground?

C. montana 'Fragrant Spring' only lists non U. S. nurseries. T&L Nursery in Redmond, WA, USA 98052 is a wholesale nursery that provides this clematis to garden stores in WA and OR as part of their regular stock. I purchased my plant from McLendon Hardware in Tacoma, WA. They have a long list of available clematis that they distribute to retail garden centers. Their website is www.TandLnursery.com
if you would like to verify it.

T & L Nursery is listed. We have added 'Fragrant Spring' to the plants they sell. In addition also Brushwood and Joy Creek nurseries in USA

Thank you! My screen only showed foreign nurseries.

That's correct. The US nurseries were added after your post.
