Summer of 2013, not 2014! More like gorgeous deep pink, than shocking blue color? Nice full blooming!

It could have been either year. (But I would plump for 2014.) In Australia the seasons are:
Summer: December-February
Autumn: March-May
Winter: June-August
Spring: September-November

Thanks for the correction, we are still in winter, spring is almost here, I love your beautiful Shocking Blue, that it would not bloom until mid spring or later here in Southern California, Learn something every day.
Enjoy your warm weather there, we have 67F today in Costa Mesa, CA.

If only they could. The southern part of Australia is suffering very hot temperatures and dreadful bushfires. But we appreciate your sentiments.

Yeah, these were taken in late January this year (2014), so mid-late summer. If only my Shocking Blue standard at home grew as well as these ones!

For sure it is not Chrysler Imperial. If you research on this same site, you will find out, it is a strong fragrant dark red rose.
