I hybridized a mini Angels Breath. The rose didn’t survive and there are no other plants. I have another mini that I want to use the name Angels Breath. Please remove the original listing so I can reuse the name. I have already removed it from my list of Roses I hybridized.

I can’t remove the listing, but I can merge it. Just add the new rose and I can merge it into that. You can then correct any details. (I find it interesting that you registered the old one on the basis of one plant)

I tried to enter the new rose with the old name but it wouldn’t let me do it.

You don't have to delete this page. You can edit it to explain the originally named rose is now extinct and the name has been reused. Or, merge them and edit to reflect the new information. Your choice.

RaynJax, you wouldn’t have been able to add another rose with exactly the same name, while the old one is still in existence.
Just add your name as breeder back to the old file and then you should be able to alter the page to reflect the new rose.

Is there a problem Mr. Guillebeau? I have added your name back into the ‘Angel’s Breath’ page and you might like to try altering whatever details you need to.

Name of rose has been changed to Red Seduction and reclassified as a miniature.

Thanks Ray. Do you have a reference we can quote?

At the moment there are three roses listed by HelpMeFind, probably all the same rose, but different parentages are quoted:
‘Red Seduction’ (seedling of ‘Charismatic)
Andigirl’ (‘Fairhope’ x unknown’)
‘Daisy Mills’ – no parentage listed.

As I am the hybridizer, the correct name is RedSeduction. They are all the same rosé. I never registered the name Daisy Mills as I never got permission to use the name. It originally was Andigirl as a miniflora but I changed the name and classification earlier this year. I hope that answers your question. It is a seedling out of Charismatic.

Ray,

The Modern Roses 12 database lists the parentage as 'Fairhope' x Unknown. Is this incorrect?

Cliff, Fairhope is correct. I've not been real good at keeping records.
