Hi Two Dog Mom! Beautiful photos of Kaiserin Friedrich. Could you please tell me if you bought your rose from Rogue Valley Roses? Are you growing it as a climber? I’m very interested in acquiring it, as I am in a hot and dry part of NorCal as well. Thank you!

Oh that’s wonderful! Thank you so much for responding. I will check with Greenmantle to see if it will be available for the upcoming shipment season. It’s a beautiful rose and a rarity! Thank you again for responding. :-)

The rose nor the foliage look like the European photos of this rose. I would be wary fully identifying a found rose as a rare rose such as this without growing them side by side. It is a very beautiful rose, and I would be thrilled to find one such as this.

I am very impressed with this new nursery. Excellent healthy roses of good size, quick reasonable shipping and good communication. I will be a frequent customer.

Sadly, this is now on the Pickering Website:

Pickering Nurseries to close permanently.
Thank you for visiting us and following our company. Though we had planned to reopen this spring it obviously didn’t happen.

After a great deal of soul-searching I have come to the decision that my future doesn’t lie in the rose business. My attempts at rooting roses showed promise (it’s not that hard really) and I have composed a complete and viable business plan. But to be honest my heart just isn’t in it, though even as I write this I teeter back and forth.

So, Pickering Nurseries is now closed permanently. I thank you for all the successful years we enjoyed.

Best regards,
Joel Schraven
