254 004 I believe this may be ‘Elli Knab’ – at Northcliffe, Western Australia, Dember 30, 2007. This rose came from an old property in Manjimup, Western Australia in 2003 and I gave it the study name of “Birte Venske”s No. 13”. I identified it from another named ‘Elli Knab’ also now growing in my garden and originally from John Wheatley’s property in Bridgetown in 2001. However, both my roses are at a fair distance from each other and until I saw Asakombu’s photo downloaded yesterday, I was always a little unsure that my two roses were in fact ‘Elli Knab’. It was supposed to be veined with vermilion and this was not so evident in my rose. At one time I was considering ‘Jonkheer J. L. Mock’ 1910 and ‘President Macia’, but I think I can now say my roses are ‘Elli Knab’.
