I already imagined, for it flowers just once.
This rose might be trained as a climber. It gets huge canes that are wonderfully colored red as the new foliage is too!

A hybrid Gallica from Italy! I suppose it would not have the need for winter chill of the older Gallicas? Might you be able to guess how much water it needs? Some Gallicas have a fairly high water requirement, as do their descendants from Mr. Austin.

This year it almost got no water at all, for we had a very dry growing season + the old oaks suck all the water.
And the fertile soil is just 60 cm on top of impenetrable boulder clay: so no replenishing of water from below.
...And it thrived!!!
The color isn't always that dark, but as for me it is a recommend!

Jay-Jay, this would be a great rose to cross with your 'Erinnerung an Brod' hybrids.

A good hint, Andrew.
I just have one E an B hybrid, but that might work out well.
Bigger flowers and a good combination of scents + the combination of the foliages.
I do not know if they will bloom at the same time, but pollen might be collected.
Till now, I only hand-pollinated a cross between Little Gem and Étoile de Hollande Cl. for Marnix.... and Paprika's.
The latter went in the home-made pasta(-sauce). Yes, I'm a cook too.

Looking at the two roses, I do agree that they look very similar. The photos I upload are from the Ludwigs Roses website, posted with permission. Here is a picture of the label of the rose which I took while visiting the nursery in January showing the breeder code. I will contact them about this to clarify!

As I mentioned, I have emailed Ludwig Taschner of Ludwigs Roses in South Africa and I think it only fair that we should give him a chance to clarify the question. If you noticed, the photographs are from his website posted with his permission.

We have received information that 'Little Awesome Beauty' and 'Incognito' are the same rose. We will merge them when we are able. Thanks for your help myrosesde and sutekesh. It is people like you that help make HelpMeFind such an incredible site.
