High Country Roses was founded in 1970 by Dr. Bill Campbell, after he spent a decade collecting and testing Old Garden Roses in the tough climate of the high plains in Colorado. The nursery moved to Utah in 1995 where his daughter, Heather, and her husband, Day, continued to grow hardy roses. In 2011, High Country Roses returned to the Denver area under the care of the family's next generation of rosarians, Matt and Jennifer Douglas. High Country Roses carries over 800 varieties of roses selected for hardiness and superior garden performance.
