Dickerson lists this with the Damask Perpetuals. He says there is some confusion between this variety and 'Mme. Boll'. Based on the information he has found (and presented), Dickerson believes that the rose presently known as 'Comte de Chambord' is actually 'Mme. Boll'.

The long beautiful buds open into a rich pink fading into lighter shades on the edges and emit a strong fragrance. The bloom is flat with outer petals reflexed and is encircled by long, pointed, dark green leaflets. The gentleman was the grandson of Charles X, exiled in 1830.

‘Comte de Chambord’: Portland. Moreau-Robert, 1860…

Editor [?]  Roses Imported From New Zealand.
This year some 'new' old roses have been imported from Trevor Griffiths in New Zealand, among those that arrived in January were:
Comte de Chambord - a well known Hybrid Perpetual which has been introduced previously and then lost.  New budwood will make certain that this very popular rose is once again available.  Very thorny, stiff growth with heavy thick foliage and huge fat buds;  flowers open to a perfect 'old fashioned shape' - colour is a delicate pink.
