'Midget' is a seedling from 'Else Poulsen' x 'Peon' cross. the flowers are pink and double, and are sweetly scented. From what I have seen of it I am sure it is going to be a favourite.

Proof of the Pudding. 'Midget'. H. ch. min. Carmine-red. (de Vink, '40) Pat. 466. ARA '41; PP. '42.
Thayer, Pa. (2 pl., 2 yr) declares it a saucy and persistent early and late bloomer. McKee, Pa. (2 pl., 1 yr.) had little growth or bloom; his plants were unhardened greenhouse cuttings in the hardest soil he ever saw and he doesn't wonder that it didn't do well. Hemp, Ky., found the growth and bloom about like 'Tom Thumb' or 'Pixie'. Bach. O). (2 pl., 1 yr.) considers it a beautiful pink miniature, grand for borders and miniature bouquets. It is not too hardy for Warner, Mich. (3 pl., 1 & 2 yr.) but he is delighted with the red blooms in quantity.
