Bred by Henry Bennett (United Kingdom, 1887).
Introduced in United States by Chas. F. Evans in 1887 as 'Meteor'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in before 1911 as 'The Meteor'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Crimson to carmine-red.  Moderate fragrance.  Medium to large, double (17-25 petals), in small clusters, flat bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  
Habit:
Short, bushy.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Can be used for cut flower.
