('Hebe's Lip', 'Margined Hip', or 'Reine Blanche') A Damask x Briar hybrid of considerable charm. The small, erect bush gives abundant blooms in early June. Semi-double. Petals cupped, creamy white, edged with rosy crimson. 4 ft. x 3 ft.
Book  (1936)  Page(s) 102.

Hebe's Lip. Semi-double, 2 1/2 in., pale cream, with rose edgings mostly exterior. Pedicel and hip smooth. Calyx smooth, just exceeding bud, short winged. Leaves medium, dull, hairy below, edges waved. Wood green, many hooked thorns, large and small. This charming variety suggests a Damask - Briar cross. The Briar 'Janet's Pride' somewhat resembles it, but is more briar-like in leaf and smaller in flower. Of its origin nothing is recorded: it goes back about a century.

Single Roses.
In our Nurseries there are no more attractive objects than the Irish single varieties, and they are so marvellously free flowering that it is impossible to say too much in their praise. During the entire growing season they are virtually always in bloom, and their lasting properties are most surprising.
Hebe's Lip... vigorous. White, edged with carmine; distinct and lovely.
