La France. A very fine large hybrid tea with varied double blooms of 60 petals. Silvery pink with a light pink reverse, La France is a constant, vigorous and profuse bloomer and is blessed with an intense fragrance. Considered to be one of the first hybrid tees introduced and the prototype of the hybrid tea class, the world-famous La France’s position as the first hybrid tea is discussed by Dr Charles Jeremias beginning on page 122.
