Is there a reason why there is no discoverer listed for this rose? I thought I would do a search for roses discovered by Nancy Lindsay, but if I did so I would not find this rose on HMF, and that made me think how many others I might miss.

As usual, Rosa de Resht is among the first to bloom in my yard this year, Connecticut Zone 6. This Spring it was beat out by Double Red Knockouts but was first in past years. It is very vigorous too. I had it planted for a couple years in a very wet area in the yard. 2008 and 2009 were exceptionally wet years in New England. The second year it seemed to start being affected. I moved it early last Spring to "higher ground". It bounced back and flowered all season last year. I pruned it back this Spring and it again bounced back and already has a dozen or more flowers on it with more to come. I normally skip over this rose when spraying for blackspot. It rarely is ever affected where other roses in the yard are affected.
I never noticed how short lived the flowers were. Perhaps because it pushes out so many. It has exceptional fragrance and color. This was my first old garden rose and is certainly one of my favorites.

I have planted this rose this year. Yes the blooms are beautyful, but they seem to last only one day. Perhaps my soil is missing something? Is this normal?

I have the same issue with mine, planted Oct-2009... beautiful flowers in color and perfume, but sometimes they last from dawn to dusk at the most...
