White, near white or white blend Hybrid Rugosa.

Origin:

Bred by Georges Bugnet (Canada, before 1960).

Class:

Hybrid Rugosa.

Bloom:

White, green undertones. Occasional repeat later in the season.

Habit:

Thornless (or almost).
Height of 3' (90 cm). Width of 5' (150 cm).

Growing:

USDA zone 2b and warmer. Very hardy.

Parentage:

Martha Bugnet × Thérèse Bugnet (Rugosa, Bugnet, 1950)

Notes:

There is no such thing as 'Louis Bugnet' rose. It is a misspelling of 'Louise Bugnet'. Georges Bugnet named 'Therese Bugnet' after a favourite sister and the rest of his roses were named after his daughters. (courtesy of P. Olsen)

probably 'Louise' since all others were named after his daughters and family tree (Rosebank Letter) shows 'Louise' [Pittao] Morden Arboretum list spelled it 'Louis' [Brian Porter] Olsen confirms that Louise is correct
