'Tsaritsa Severa' rose Description

Bloom:
Deep pink. Double (17-25 petals) bloom form. Spring or summer flush with scattered later bloom.
Habit:
Armed with thorns, suckers on its own roots. Height of up to 4' (up to 120 cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 2b through 8b. Used for hedge. Very hardy. very vigorous.
Notes:
Grown from a batch of rugosa seed sent to St. Petersburg by K. J. Maximowicz and thought to be a spontaneous cross of Rosa rugosa and Rosa davurica. Pohjolan Kunigatar is quite common in Finland and Norway. Flowers are smaller and darker darker than those of Hansa, doesn't rebloom as well as Hansa, according to Peter Joy, Finnish Rose Society.
