Bred by Henry Bennett (United Kingdom, 1893).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in before 1911 as 'Captain Hayward'.

Hybrid Perpetual, Hybrid Tea, Tea.  
Bloom:
Crimson.  Moderate fragrance.  25 to 30 petals.  Large, semi-double to double, cupped, high-centered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Upright.  
Height of 4' 11" to 7' (150 to 215 cm).  Width of 4' (120 cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 4b and warmer.  Does not do well in warmer climates.  plant in partial shade for best color.  Feed this rose well.

Tetraploid
