Does anyone know  what conditions are necessary to ensure that lavender or bluish peonies and tree peonies  bloom lavender or blue and not pink?  What influences color in peonies?

I have 4 peonie bushes that get sun most of the day - not afternoon hot sun.  I am not sure how long they have been there- I have lived in this house for 7 years and they were there before that.  They are only about 21/2 feet tall and not blooming at all and never have in the 7 years I have been there.  Was wondering if I need to fertilize them or move them someplace where they get sun all day?

Sounds to me like you need to dig them up and divide them.. lucky you, now you will have twice the amount of peonies.. I'm jealous, I only have one and it is still spindly after nearly three years in the ground.. too much shade, I think.. Anyway, good lucky with dividing up all those peonies.
